Interview with Steffen Kölsch

What's your background and role in the company?

I studied at a technical university in Germany and came to Sweden on exchange — and quickly realized this was a place I wanted to stay. After a working holiday in New Zealand, I returned to Sweden for my full master's degree.

Today, after graduation, I focus on project management and client-facing work, making sure we solve the right problems, build the right solutions, and maintain high quality throughout our projects.

Why did you start the company?

I met the core team during our studies, and we quickly saw how meaningful it was to build things together. We started as part of a student organization at Chalmers and grew step by step, learning with every project.

What really motivated us was curiosity, a strong willingness to learn, and the exposure you get when working with real companies early on. You meet inspiring founders and entrepreneurs you would probably never meet in a traditional early-career role. In the end, it comes down to building meaningful human connections while creating real value.

What do you enjoy most about the work?

From defining a problem to delivering a final solution, every project is a journey — and there are always unexpected challenges along the way.

The best moments are when you sit down with a client, reach a shared understanding, and can clearly map out the next steps toward a solution. It's about those small wins along the way — and of course, nothing beats the feeling of a successful final delivery.

What kind of company do you want to build?

Externally, I see strong potential in AI-driven projects for SMEs, especially when it comes to reducing manual and repetitive tasks. I also want to deepen our connection to the startup and VC ecosystem in Stockholm.

No matter the industry, I'm convinced there is always at least one IT project that can make real sense. Ultimately, I want us to be a company that builds strong, long-term partnerships. Internally, it's just as important that we keep up the good vibes — trusting the process and genuinely enjoying what we do together.
